The church of Christ in Sunnyside is a congregation that loves, practices and defends the truth. This congregation is in harmony with the word and each other. We do not apologize for scripture as it is the basis for salvation and unity among Christians. The Bible, being the inspired word of God, is our ONLY creed. We do not appeal to the human opinions and philosophies of the day that change with time. Our appeal is in fact, that people everywhere would lay down their opinions at the altar of God and offer them as a whole burnt offering to Him. The Bible is the basis for all of our thinking and doing. If your quest is for simple Christianity without all the substitutions and machinery of man, then please consider the Sunnyside Church of Christ.

Preaching Experience: Since January 1993

Engaged In Two Public Debates:

On "Salvation" and "Faith Only" (Sept. 27th and 28th, 1999)

Opponent: KURT STREUTKER of Answers In Genesis affirmed that we are saved by grace through faith alone without water baptism. He doesn't take the literal understanding of baptism, that he does with "creation" unfortunately.

On the "Sabbath Question" (Oct. 21st and 22nd, 2002)

Opponent: DAVE GILES affirmed that the Sabbath Day is still a part of God's law for Christians to observe today. This debate was held in Forest Grove, Oregon where about 300 people attended the first night and another 250 the second. We commend Mr. Giles for having the gumption to defend his doctrine. We hope, that he will obey the truth and begin worshipping God on His day, the first day of the week.

Steven relocated to Sunnyside, WA from the Cincinnati, Ohio area in January 1999. Until December of 2008, he preached for two churches in Central Washington: Sunnyside and Terrace Heights (of Yakima). Presently he is the evangelist for the Sunnyside church.

Hobbies: loves being around his family, being outdoors, studying creation, camping, engaging in discussions/debates and watching Steeler Football!
